Opening of the Anatomy Pathology Museum, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine
9 March 2020
Corporate Communication and Alumni Relations Center (CCARC)
Faculty of Veterinary Medicine invites the public to attend the opening of the Anatomy Pathology Museum on 21st March, 2020 during 9.00 – 11.00 a.m. at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and will include making merit making for the donation of animal bodies to the faculty.
“One animal body donated for students is like a large text for reading and learning. Life has passed away but the body still stands, we the students still remember this donation in kindness.”
Associate Professor Dr. Korrakot Gnanwongpanich, Head of Department of Veterinary Anatomy and Pathology said that the museum was previously a single room for storing anatomy examples such as skeletons, donated by various pet owners including faculty members.
The objective of this museum is to be a source of learning for veterinarian students and with the increasing amount of examples a larger space for the museum was needed. In response to this the Department of Biological Veterinary and Public Health of Veterinary Medicine in 2017 initiated a project to improve the exhibition room to create a beautiful place for displays on anatomy and pathology.
The museum has been supported by officers and students from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and by the public which has held events such as Yoga Charity in support of the museum.
