CMU Science Students Win Second Runner-Up Prize at AI Thailand Hackathon 2024 EP.1 AI Cooking

CMU third-year students majoring in Data Science (DS) and Computer Science (CS) won the second runner-up prize at the AI Thailand Hackathon 2024 EP.1 AI Cooking and a prize money of 20,000 baht. The competition was held between June 21 – 23, 2024, at Sirindhorn Science Home, Thailand Science Park in Pathum Thani.
The members included Mr. Sivakorn Wangwon from the Computer Science program, and Ms. Shinya Wongyai and Mr. Atsadawut Surinrungsee from Data Science.

A Project Titled ‘Safecall: Safeguarding Seniors from Scam Calls’
This innovation tackles phone scams targeting elderly people by using automation speech recognition (ASR) to translate the voice of an unknown caller and then a large language model (LLM) will detect the scamming pattern in real-time and promptly notify the user sound and vibration notifications.
