Chiang Mai University’s International College of Digital Innovation (ICDI) Holds Progress Meeting for Rail Logistics Optimization Model Project

   On August 6, 2024, the International College of Digital Innovation at Chiang Mai University, led by Assistant Professor Dr. Rujira Ouncharoen, Dean of ICDI, along with a team of researchers and Mr. Somsak Wongpanyathavorn, former Senior Director of the Bank of Thailand Northern Region Office in Chiang Mai, held a progress meeting for the Rail Logistics Optimization Model project. This project is a collaboration with the Rail Technology Research and Development Institute (Public Organization) (RTRDI), Zuse Institute Berlin (ZIB) in Germany.

The meeting was honored by the presence of the project's advisory team:
1. Dr. Piang-Or Laohavilai, Board Member of RTRDA
2. Prof.Dr.Thorsten Koch Head of Applied Algorithmic Intelligence Methods (A?IM) Department, Zuse Institute Berlin (ZIB), Germany
3. Prof.Dr.Ralf Borndrfer Head of Network Optimization Department, Zuse Institute Berlin (ZIB), Germany
4. Assoc.Prof.Dr.Ying Chen Director of Centre for Quantitative Finance & PI of Asian Institute of Digital Finance, National University of Singapore

   The meeting involved reporting on the study of key transportation systems through the rail network connecting Thailand, Laos, China, and other regions. Discussions were held to gather feedback and suggestions for the future development of Thailand's rail system.
