ICDI attended a meeting with the Free Trade Zone Committee of the Yunnan Federation of Industrial Economics at Ziyun Bluebird - Yunnan Cultural and Creative Exposition in Kunming, People's Republic of China.
12 May 2023
International College of Digital Innovation
On May 9, 2023, a working group from the International College of Digital Innovation (ICDI) at Chiang Mai University, led by Assistant Professor Dr. Rujira Ouncharoen, Dean, attended a meeting with the Free Trade Zone Committee of the Yunnan Federation of Industrial Economics at Ziyun Bluebird - Yunnan Cultural and Creative Exposition in Kunming, People's Republic of China. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss cooperation opportunities in cross-border e-commerce under the Entrepreneurship Development Project in Lancang-Mekong Cooperation Member Countries. The main objective of this project is to support the development of the innovative economy corridor (Strengthening Entrepreneurs in LMC for Route Number 1 Innovation Corridor Development) by promoting and supporting cross-border e-commerce products of SMEs, entrepreneurs, startups, and community enterprises in Thailand to China, thus creating market opportunities for these businesses to sell their products to Chinese customers. Additionally, the project aims to support the development of entrepreneurs, SMEs, startups, and students in becoming digital marketers and promoting their products and services in the Chinese market through cross-border e-commerce. The geographical advantage of having transportation routes connecting countries in the sub-region of Mekong and the People's Republic of China, such as the China-Laos railway that connects to Thailand in both the North and the Northeast, allows for increased ease in promoting cross-border e-commerce.
