Team Ai in TBI Wins Top Prize at MEDCHIC Health Hackathon 2022
11 August 2022
Faculty of Science
Team Ai in TBI came in first at the MEDCHIC Health Hackathon 2022, held under the theme ‘Transforming Healthcare Services’ between August 6 – 7, 2022 at Kantary Hills Hotel, Chiang Mai by MED CMU Innovation Centre (MedCHIC) at the CMU Faculty of Medicine in partnership with the National Innovation Agency (NIA).
The award-winning project ‘Intelligent Assistant for Diagnosis Patient in Trauma Brain Injury Scenario’ was contributed by Assistant Professor Salita Angkurawaranon, M.D., from the Department of Radiology in the Faculty of Medicine; Dr. Papangkorn Inkeaw, from the Department of Computer Science, from the Faculty of Science; and Phattanun Thabarsa, a master’s student in Data Science at the Faculty of Engineering.
Participating teams were comprised of experts in various fields, from healthcare professionals, engineers, teachers, and lecturers to start-ups, working to hack health problems and come up with ideas, solutions and MVPs that stem from the need to solve pain points found in medical treatment and services.
After 36 hours of the innovation process, all projects would receive support for further development into practical application, producing medical innovations that would address future challenges in healthcare. The future health innovators will take their solutions into the SMID sandbox to test in real-world applications.
