International College of Digital Innovation (ICDI), Chiang Mai University and the Zuse Institute Berlin are collaborating on research to develop logistics management information systems and freight supply chain management.

   On March 21, 2024, ICDI organized a workshop on “Optimized Supply Chain Logistics”, which received recognition from Associate Professor Dr. Vinita Bunyodom, Vice President of Chiang Mai University. The chairman delivered the opening speech and discussed the direction of Chiang Mai University's research policy with Assistant Professor Dr. Rujira Ouncharoen, Dean of the International College of Digital Innovation. She outlined the project's objectives and introduced honorary speakers Prof. Dr. Thorsten Koch, an expert in Applied Algorithmic Intelligence Methods, and Prof. Dr. Ralf Bornd?fer, an expert in Network Optimization from the Zuse Institute Berlin, Germany, who served as lecturers and shared their expertise. Both engaged in joint research within the project to develop a logistics management information system and supply chain for transporting goods between China and Africa, Europe, Malaysia, and Singapore via the Thai rail system.

   In the afternoon, there was a lecture to exchange research experiences on the Overview of Vehicle Routing with Time Windows by Associate Professor Dr. Chulin Likasiri, a lecturer in the Department of Mathematics at the Faculty of Science, an expert in Nonlinear Optimization Operation Research, and Dr. Payakorn Saksuriya, an expert in Computational Mathematics Optimization.

   Additionally, the project to develop the logistics management information system and supply chain for transporting goods between China and Africa, Europe, Malaysia, and Singapore through the Thai rail system is a collaboration between Rail Technology Research and Development Agency - RTRDA (Public Organization), the International College of Digital Innovation at CMU, and the Zuse Institute Berlin, Germany. This collaboration combines expertise from across the country in research and development to enhance transportation potential, thereby boosting the country's competitiveness in the future.
