Students from the Integrated Journalism programme, CMU Faculty of Mass Communication, received an honourable mentions prize in radio documentary at the 18th Saifahnoi Awards 2023, held by the Thai Broadcast Journalists Association. The presentation ceremony took place on December 23, 2023, at Best Western Chutachak Hotel, Bangkok.
The project titled ‘Mae Kha: Relocation Plan for a Community Situated on a Historical Site’ by Team SOS Mae Kha was awarded an honourable mentions prize in the radio documentary category, earning the members a plaque of honour and prize money. The team members included Ms. Thitiphon Manowanna, Ms. Chonticha Sunansawek, Ms. Suraiya Binyoh, Ms. Wilawan Panyo and Ms. Ketpanya Yangkunming.
Meanwhile, the project ‘Lanna Music ad Infinitum’ by Team Ta Ton Yon La On Tu Lung made the top five in the same category, earning them a certificate of honour. The team members were Ms. Thanyaphon Sophahui, Ms. Thanchanok Intharangsi, Ms. Thanyaphon Suwannahong, Ms. Theerada Jiwsaijaem and Ms. Juthamanee Fumin. Supervised by Assistant Professor Laddawan Inthachak, Associate Professor Dr. Narin Namcharoen and Mr. Raphinnat Bannachak, both teams were students taking the course 851448: Journalism Production Project.
