Research Administrative Unit, International College of Digital Innovation, Chiang Mai University has organized a training on the topic of Human Research Ethics “Ethical Principles” on Wednesday, July 19, 2023, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at ICB room 1211, International College of Digital Innovation. The training speakers included Assistant Professor Dr. Liwa Padthaisong, Assistant Professor Dr. Chaiyan Sakulsriprasert, Assistant Professor Dr. Pimonpan Chainan, Miss Narumon Noumanong, and a staff team from the Office of the Human Research Ethics Committee at Chiang Mai University.

The purposes of this event are:
1 To provide academic personnel with knowledge and understanding of evolution and research ethics in human subjects. Principles and criteria for ethical consideration in human research, research proposal writing, and research tools and process for obtaining informed consent from subjects.

2 To prepare academic personnel for applying skills gained from training to improve the quality of research studies including academic works to be standardized following international standards of research ethics for the development of cooperation between public and private organizations both domestically and internationally

3 To provide opportunities for academic personnel and responsible unit to carry out exchanged knowledge and experiences on research ethics in human subjects “Ethical principles” for academic publishing

In this regard, Associate Professor Dr. Manad Khamkong, Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and Research presided over the opening ceremony of the training, together with the relevant faculty members and staff who attended the activity. It included lectures on the evolution and ethics of human research, ethical principles and criteria for human research, research proposal writing and research tools, subject-informed consent processes and project submission procedures, and online submissions. If participants attend more than 80% of the lectures, the Office of Human Research Ethics Committee will reissue a certificate later.
