Chiang Mai Crafts Fair 2020

We are pleased to welcome you to our 4th celebration of “Chiang Mai Crafts Fair” under the theme of “Yang Hai Jai” (still breathing), crafts and folk arts are still with us every breath.
Date: 2 – 8 December 2020
Time: 09.00 am – 04.00 pm
Location: The Lanna Traditional House Museum
(The Center for the Promotion of Arts and Culture, Chiang Mai University)
The current global situations, for example, COVID-19 pandemic, PM2.5, air pollution, and climate change, have inevitably impacted on ways of life.
Now it’s time to raise our awareness and keep our breath healthy.
The breath of craftsmanship needs to be strengthened.
The indigenous skills need to be transmitted.
The breath of Chiang Mai also needs to be maintained to let people know that we always stay healthy and strong.
Our celebration includes:
* “Kad Salha On Sale”
The traditional market where you can find various kinds of cultural products, traditional foods, local crafts, and many artworks created by local artisans.
* “Creative Workshops”
The workshop activities provide an opportunity to learn how to make special local crafts and folk arts demonstrated by skillful artisans.
* “Breath of Native Crafts Exhibition”
The traditional Lanna exhibition displays handicraft materials with exceptional designs and special aesthetic patterns, the materials can reflect indigenous knowledge and beliefs of the ancestor of the Lanna people.
* “Celebration Events”
• The 3rd Anniversary Chiang Mai UNESCO Creative City of Crafts and Folk Art
• The celebration for Chiang Mai as a “World Craft City” recognized by the World Craft Council
* “Local Expression”
The performances, recreations, and conversation space for crafts and folk arts specialists to share their knowledge and develop their skills with creativity
