On Friday, August 18, 2023, the administrative of Digital Innovation International College at Chiang Mai University, led by the Dean, Assistant Professor Dr. Rujiira Ouncharoen, Assistant Professor Dr. Benjamas Suksatit, and Lecturer Dr. Peangor Laohavilai, guided the management team of the Ministry of Transport. The latter team consisted of Dr. Pichet Kunathamrak, the Director General of the Department of Rail Transport at the Ministry of Transport of Thailand, Dr. Tayakorn Chandrangsu, Director of the Safety Standards and Maintenance Division at the Department of Rail Transport, and Dr. Santi Charoenpornpattana, President of Rail Technology Research and Development Agency, Ministry of Transport, attended a study visit on railway technology in China at Kunming Railway Vocational and Technical College in Kunming, People's Republic of China.
During this study visit, they delved into railway technology in China at Kunming Railway Vocational and Technical College. In this regard, Mr. Wang Shuhua, the Secretary of the CPC Committee of the College, along with the Working Group from relevant departments, participated in discussions and exchanges. Joining Mr. Wang Shuhua was Professor Ma Li, the Dean of the Rolling Stock Academy, who led the delegation in visiting the college's locomotive maintenance training base, urban rail transit training base, Yunnan high-speed rail technology public training base, as well as its teaching and training facilities. Additionally, the delegation toured each training facility and gained insights into their utilization.
In addition, Mr. Wang Shuhua, Secretary of the Party Committee of the College, and the relevant department's working group participated in discussions and exchanges. Simultaneously, Professor Ma Li, Dean of the Rolling Stock Academy, led the delegation on a visit to the training base, the locomotive maintenance base, the Urban Rail Transport Training Base, Yunnan high-speed train technology public training bases, and other teaching and training facilities.
During discussions on collaboration, Mr. Wang Shuhua exchanged souvenirs with representatives from the Ministry of Transport and Chiang Mai University. The parties also engaged in in-depth discussions on the training of railway technical personnel, encompassing technical staff training, collaboration, and exchange among institutions, teacher exchanges, joint course creation, recruitment of foreign students, and more. Furthermore, various proposals for cooperation were put forward.
