CMU’s Faculty of Veterinary Medicine has launched a new CT-Scan Center which features advanced diagnostic radiologic technology to elevate pet care. The same CT-scan as the one used on humans, this technology can calculate radiation doses with great accuracy and provide high-resolution images in both 2D and 3D, with a maximum load capacity of 200 kilograms, allowing for effective treatment planning. On August 2, 2024, CMU and the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine in partnership with Next Vision Technology Co., Ltd., hosted the official launch at NOVEL CMU, chaired by CMU President, Professor Dr. Pongruk Sribanditmongkol. Also joining the ribbon-cutting ceremony were Professor Dr. Korakot Nganvongpanit, Faculty Dean, and Mr. Seksan Narongsorn, Managing Director of Next Vision Technology.
The CT-Scan Center will play a key role in increasing the capacity of pet treatment planning using advanced radiologic diagnostic equipment, which is the one that is used on humans. With the weight capacity of 200 kilograms, this technology can help detect abnormalities in animals safely and effectively, as well as giving accurate calculations of necessary radiation doses. After scanning, the machine will give high-resolution images in 2D and 3D which will be read by specialists and reported to the attending doctors for optimal treatment planning. Moreover, the center will serve as an educational facility in diagnostic imaging for interested practitioners with the hopes of elevating the quality of pet care in the Northern region.
The CT Scan Center is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., except on public holidays. For further information, dial 081-745-1935.
