Opening ceremony of 20th CIRC 2023

CMU Faculty of Mass Communication, in partnership with Digital Asia Hub, hosted the 20th Chinese Internet Research Conference 2023 (CIRC 2023). The theme was ‘The Chinese Internet in the Global South: Flows, Frictions, and Futures’. It was held between July 12 – 14, 2023 at the Communication Innovation Centre (CIC) in the hybrid format and attracted around 100 scholars from South and Southeast Asia, as well as other parts of Asia, Africa and Latin America, who presented 48 studies on the impacts of the Chinese internet on the digital culture, innovation, public infrastructure and other topics. Assistant Professor Dr Tanyanuparb Anantana, Vice President, presided over the opening ceremony, while Associate Professor Terapatt Vannaruemol, Dean of the Faculty, gave an overview report. The opening ceremony was held on July 12 at the CIC.
