Dean Thanee Delivers Keynote Address at 5th West China International Nursing Conference

Assistant Professor Dr. Thanee Kaewthamanukul, Dean of the Faculty of Nursing at Chiang Mai University was invited to speak at the 5th West China International Nursing Conference. The conference, which was held at the JinJiang Hotel in Chengdu, Sichuan Province, China, on September 22-23, 2023, was organized by the West China School of Nursing at Sichuan University. Its objective was to provide a platform for academic exchange and cooperation among over 1,000 nurses, educators, and researchers from China and worldwide.
In his keynote address, Dr. Thanee spoke on Embracing Global Health: Enhancing Nurses' Competency. He emphasized the importance of nurses in global health and the need for them to have the skills and knowledge to care for patients from diverse backgrounds. He also discussed the importance of collaboration and partnership between nurses in different countries.
Dr. Thanee’s keynote address was well-received by nurses, educators, and researchers from China and worldwide. His insights were particularly relevant given the current global health challenges, such as the COVID-19 pandemic and the growing burden of non-communicable diseases.
The conference was a huge success and provided a valuable platform for nurses to learn from each other and share their expertise. Dr. Thanee's keynote address was one of the conference's highlights, and his insights will undoubtedly shape nursing education and practice in China and beyond.
